About us
Brooklyn Roots Music Festival Corp (BRMF) is a non-profit corporation which is a cultural, musical, artistic, and anthropological structure dedicated to the promotion of the Haitian roots music and arts, and its historical values while preserving the cultural heritage through education.
Our Philosophy
At Brooklyn Roots Music Festival Corp., we are currently working on our primary project which is to establish an Annual Brooklyn Roots Music Festival in Brooklyn New York. The festival will allow the Brooklyn community and the tri-State Area to discover some of Haiti’s best emerging and established talents through our traditional music and arts & crafts. It will reflect the untold stories of our people who are still being oppressed. This event will facilitate a series of workshops for the young Haitian Americans throughout the communities on bringing awareness about their heritage. Also, all other groups from diverse ethnic backgrounds will explore the enrichment of the festivity while learning how the Haitian traditional music influenced numerous genres of music from Jazz to Hip Hop.
